WE CANNOT WALK ALONE
2021I was given the opportunity to work on a project with Refugee Resource Women’s Service, to celebrate Refugee Week 2021 at Art The Old Fire Station in Oxford.
This dynamic, diverse and resilient group of women have found new family and developed new friendships through this charity and the body of work is a celebration of all refugee, immigrant and migrant women in the city.
Each portrait was a real collaboration; we played, experimented and developed a mutual trust. It’s not easy dropping your guard in front of the lens, it can feel very very exposing, and I can’t thank the women enough for trusting in the project and allowing me to capture a tiny bit of their inner self. They are all incredibly inspiring women.
