The Hands that Built the

Schwarzman Centre

The Hands that Built the Schwarzman Centre was made during the construction of Oxford’s new humanities centre. Photographs of workers sit alongside handwritten texts, drawn from conversations about their dreams beyond work. Commissioned by the University of Oxford’s Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities and Photo Oxford, the project shifts attention from the finished building to those constructing it.
